LITTLE RISING STARS

LITTLE RISING STARS

Program Overview

The Rising Stars classroom is for students whose ages range from 6 weeks to 6 months. These students are focus on gross motor skills which include rolling over, sitting up, and reaching. The fine motor skills that are introduced are grasping, and holding various items in their hands. Social and Emotional development is taught so that students learn to communicate, share, and interact with others. The teachers at Shiloh Gardens Academy are committed to connecting with your baby’s unique schedule and needs from early on. With a day full of warm and nurturing interactions, movement and playtime, our infants have every opportunity to grow and develop a sense of trust and confidence in a secure learning environment.

Little Rising Stars

The most important goal of our early childhood curriculum is to prepare children for Kindergarten socially, physically and emotionally through the use of a Creative Curriculum. This means encouraging children to be active and creative explorers who are not afraid to try out their ideas and to think their own thoughts successfully. We monitor the developmental goals and growth of your child by focusing on milestones included but not limited to the list below.

Milestones

While babies may progress at different rates, the following are some of the common milestones your baby may reach in this age group:

  • Squeals and waves arms when excited
  • Makes sounds like “ooh” and “aah”
  • Briefly holds a small rattle
  • Pushes up on arms while on stomach
  • Brings both hands to mouth
  • Rolls from back to sides
  • Sits up with your support
  • Pushes on legs when feet are on a hard surface
