Our Philosophy

Starting as a Family Child Care Center under the management of Ms. Pamela Marshall, Shiloh Gardens Academy has served families in various New Orleans communities for over 17 years. Our school perspective involves creating a classroom and school environment which respects and supports all dimensions of human differences, including cultural, linguistic, ability, learning style, ethnicity, family culture, gender, age, and socio-economic differences. This perspective is attained by using materials that support diversity and integrate similarities and differences into the daily life of the classroom. We are Blessed to exist in an environment enriched with multiple cultures and people of many socioeconomic backgrounds for it has afforded us with an opportunity to experience the valuable influence diversity has in educating our children and their families. As a Title III (formerly Class A) center we continue to operate by this philosophy and we feel that as a community, it is important that we live by it.

Our Curriculum

Long-lasting benefits

Shiloh Gardens Academy is a proud partner of the Creative Curriculum program. We chose to partner with Creative Curriculum because the program is recognized as the standard of excellence and the curriculum has helped thousands of preschools successfully prepare children for a lifetime of learning. The Creative Curriculum® for Preschool is one of the most widely used pre-K curricula in the nation. It’s comprehensive and research-based and features exploration and discovery as a way of learning.

Shiloh Gardens Academy is a proud partner of the Frog Street Curriculum for our infant and toddler classes. Frog Street Infant is a comprehensive program that optimizes key windows of opportunity to build strong foundations for little ones ages 0-18 months. Based on the latest early brain development research, this program offers easy-to-use activities emphasizing all developmental domains (language, cognitive, physical, social and emotional, approaches toward learning) featuring Dr. Becky Bailey’s Conscious Discipline®.

Frog Street Infant is aligned to Head Start School Readiness Goals for Infants and offers complete support to equip caregivers to optimize the growth and development of the children in their care.
